Teahouses on sidewalk in subsidy period, the image of “Thay do” writing calligraphy at the beginning of spring, Xam singing, “lien anh”, “lien chi” in traditional costume “ao tu than” singing “quan ho”… will be restored, reproduced in “old book fair” which will take place on 2 days January 9th to 10th, 2016 at the Hanoi University of Culture.
The organizers of “Old book fair”
“Old book fair” organized by Hanoi old book Bookstore in collaboration with the businesses will be the opening action for the cultural sequence of events at the early days.
With the participation of over 40 stalls of 20 businesses trading used books and publishing companies, “Old book fair” showed the great interest of people in Hanoi with this cultural beauty and their wishes of holding the fair regularly. The fair will become one of the cultural exchange places for readers in the capital.
The activities of “Old book fair”
One of the highlights of the fair this time is the image of Teahouses on sidewalk – corner which is familiar with the busiest markets with buyers and sellers interspersed among the entrances at book fair.
According to the organizers, in addition to commercial activities, trading and exchange old books are still the main activities in each book event. At each event in each month, the organizers will be integrated into this space the resurrection of some traditional cultural activities like the image of teahouses on sidewalk at subsidy period, the image of “Thay do” writing calligraphy at the beginning of spring, Xam singing, “lien anh”, “lien chi” in traditional costume “ao tu than” singing “quan ho”… These will be the highlights in coordination with old books evoking memories of old northern provinces.
The other activities
In two days of the fair, readers attending the event will take part in activities such as Henna painting, Tarrot, portraits painting with cheap prices. It’s very interesting to drink a cup of tea, reading books and enjoy some attractive foods. With the clean and spacious space of the University of Culture and separated parking area, readers are comfortable when participating in the activities of the fair.
